Remembering Kathy Krajco

What Makes Narcissists Tick
Link to: Blog

Kathy Krajco, author of What Makes Narcissists Tick, a website and blog that has been read by thousands of people all over the world, recently passed away. Krajco has been part of my weekly routine jumping from blog-to-blog, empathizing with the way bloggers have been impacted by narcissists...for the better, or for the worse.

I daresay though, when it comes to narcissistic relationships, the bad far outweighs the good no matter how adept we are at shining pennies buried in manure piles.

Having a multitude of bloggers writing about narcissism is essential to understanding the narcissist as an individual while also defining narcissists as a collective. To be sure, blogging about narcissism is not easy for anyone. Not even for an accomplished writer like Kathy Krajco. But one thing I will say: Kathy got right to the point and didn't ask readers to wade through countless adjectives and endless personal stories. (insert 'wink' here) I appreciated her ability to make a point without going around the block three times to do it.

So whether or not I agree with each blogger’s perspective and whether or not they agree with mine: we are defining, refining and naming narcissism in order to create positive change for individuals and for our society.

You know, even if clinical psychologists have crossed every “t” and dotted every “i” in a dissertation on NPD, learning from the people affected by narcissistic relationships makes the real difference in people’s lives. So, that's what bloggers do. We make the esoteric practical.

I want to express my gratitude for Kathy Krajco and for her willingness to write about pathological narcissism in a clear and concise manner. She will be deeply missed.

Hugs to all,

  1. Amen, CZ. She was one of a kind, and her passing is an enormous loss.

  2. I just heard of Kathy tonight. In doing more reading, i came across this. Im saddened to hear this. I will be reading more of her blog.

    1. Kathy writes pretty much exclusively about malignant narcissism so she's describing the pathological extreme of the narcissistic spectrum.

She has helped a lot of people by breaking through their denial and cutting through 'minimization and rationalization'. Her main website has been deleted but her blog is still open to readers (for how long, nobody knows!)

If you read one of her articles and would like to discuss it, you could post on our forum here: OR of course, you could comment on my blog.

Good luck in your studies, anon!

  3. So very sorry to learn about the great loss of Kathy. Very straight to the point lady indeed. You were my angel Kathy who enlightened me so much. When the student was ready Kathy appeared.
    God Bless
    anon Ireland

  4. I found Kathy's blog when I was near the end of my rope thinking I must be insane. I literally owe her my life. God bless you Kathy.
